Who / what we are and where / when we meet

We are a group of stamp collectors. We collect stamps. Yes, postage stamps … and also covers, postmarks, revenue stamps, postal stationery, postcards, postal history – in fact lots of things connected with stamps. Some of us are philatelists, others call themselves beginners, some are experts, others are accumulators and most of us are somewhere in-between. We share a common interest in stamps and all aspects of stamp collecting. And we are a friendly bunch.
We meet monthly with a general meeting in the evening and a daytime meeting for those who find it a problem getting out at night.
- The evening meeting’s format is a Sale-by-Tender, and a display subject followed by light refreshments. All members are encouraged to bring items of interest and to participate in the displays each month.
- We hold workshops up to twice a year on specific areas of interest such as “How to value stamps” “Forgeries” and “How to display material”.
- The daytime meeting’s format is a “bring and buy”, “question of the month”, “show and tell” and a short talk or discussion for stamp collectors and one or two members may be asked to display on a particular subject, the meeting concludes with light refreshments.
Visitors are very welcome to all meetings and may attend up to three meetings before being asked to join. Visitors may participate in all activities with the exception of selling items and borrowing from the library until membership has been ratified.
One subscription of $10 per annum allows for the attendance at both clubs and workshops.
