{"id":4,"date":"2013-05-20T02:42:22","date_gmt":"2013-05-20T02:42:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stirlingphilatelicsociety.com\/?page_id=4"},"modified":"2026-08-30T12:20:45","modified_gmt":"2026-08-30T04:20:45","slug":"who-what-we-are-where-when-we-meet","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/stirlingphilatelicsociety.com\/","title":{"rendered":"Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Who \/ what we are and where \/ when we meet<\/h1>\n<p>We are a group of stamp collectors.\u00a0 We collect stamps.\u00a0 Yes, postage stamps \u2026 and also covers, postmarks, revenue stamps, postal stationery, postcards, postal history &#8211; in fact lots of things connected with stamps.\u00a0 Some of us are philatelists, others call themselves beginners, some are experts, others are accumulators and most of us are somewhere in-between.\u00a0 We share a common interest in stamps and all aspects of stamp collecting.\u00a0 And we are a friendly bunch.<\/p>\n<p>We meet monthly with a general meeting in the evening and a daytime meeting for those who find it a problem getting out at night.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The evening meeting\u2019s format is a Sale-by-Tender, and a display subject followed by light refreshments.\u00a0 All members are encouraged to bring items of interest and to participate in the displays each month.<\/li>\n<li>We hold workshops up to twice a year on specific areas of interest such as \u201cHow to value stamps\u201d \u201cForgeries\u201d and \u201cHow to display material\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>The daytime meeting\u2019s format is a \u201cbring and buy\u201d, \u201cquestion of the month\u201d, \u201cshow and tell\u201d and a short talk or discussion for stamp collectors and one or two members may be asked to display on a particular subject, the meeting concludes with light refreshments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Visitors are very welcome to all meetings and may attend up to three meetings before being asked to join. Visitors may participate in all activities with the exception of selling items and borrowing from the library until membership has been ratified.<\/p>\n<p>One subscription of $10 per annum allows for the attendance at both clubs and workshops.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/stirlingphilatelicsociety.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Stirling_Philatelic_Membership_Application_Form.pdf\">Application for membership.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Stirling<\/b><b> Philatelic Society Inc<\/b><br \/>\nMeets 4th Wednesday each month 7.30pm (except December) at &#8220;Club Rooms&#8221;, Charles Riley Reserve, Wendling Road, North Beach.<\/p>\n<p><b>The Northern Suburbs Daytime Stamp Club<\/b><br \/>\nMeets 3rd Thursday each month 1.00 &#8211;
